The AFA algae is a fresh water algae that grows in the sunny Cascade Mountains in Oregon at an altitude of 1,450 meters. The winters there are very cold and long. All attempts to commercially cultivate this algae have failed.
Each year a natural selection process insures that only the very fittest algae survive. Only 1% of the Afa algae survive the extreme cold in Lake Klamath to reproduce the following year.
The fact that only the very fittest algae survieve has proven to be a health bonus for the people who consume this wild algae.
The algae for this product comes from Lake Klatmath in Oregon, USA – from the upper Lake Klamath with its particularly pure water. This lake, with its size of 250 square kilometers, has wonderfully pure dirnking water and is one of the most Nutrient-Rich bodies of water on earth.
