Gentiana amarelle / Gentian
PLANT DESCRIPTION
This plant reaches a height of 15-20 cm and is found in lime-rich soil, dry, hilly pastures and in dunes. There are many different types of gentian; however, for Bach flowers, only bitter gentian is employed. Gentian is a biennial plant. The five-petaled purple/violet flowers blossom from August to the beginning of October.
PREPARATION: sun method
MOOD GROUP: Uncertainty
NEGATIVE CONDITION
Easily discouraged, down and depressed (with identifiable cause). Doubts about many things (recovery, success etc.) and seems discouraged. Also suitable for cases of dispiritedness when overburdened by studies.
-
Little stamina and discouragement by small problems and difficulties. The feeling of "Now everything is over" dominates.
-
Gentian personalities have trouble believing in something. They would really like to, but they can't seem to do so. They challenge and analyse too much and believe that they must understand everything theoretically.
-
The healing process can be slowed down because at the slightest small relapse, hope is abandoned (even when things are generally improving) that they will ever be healthy again.
-
The depressed mood in negative Gentian condition is always caused by an apparent reason, unlike Mustard or Gorse. The Gentian personality can also achieve courage and confidence once again.
-
Gentian helps for example also after the death of someone close to them, during sustained unemployment, etc.
POSITIVE POTENTIAL
One begins to believe that all difficulties can eventually be overcome. No obstacle seems insurmountable, even when the hoped-for result does not manifest itself. One recognises that one never fails when one gives one's best, no matter what the final result is. If something does not succeed, one isn't immediately disappointed, but rather sees it as a sign that another way, maybe even in this moment, is more appropriate for him/her.
BACH QUOTE
"For those who allow themselves to be easily discouraged. They may make good progress in their recovery or everyday matters, but even the briefest delay or the smallest obstacle leads them to doubt and discouragement.“
