Ornithogalum umbellatum / Star of Bethlehem
PLANT DESCRIPTION
Star of Bethlehem belongs to the lily family, which is also related to onions and garlic. It can reach a height between 10 und 25 cm and it prefers open grassland, roadsides but also forests. The slender, dark-green leaves are pointed with a white line in the center. The small flowers with six petals are shiny white and blossom only when the sun shines. They bloom from April to May.
