The "Yellow Root", also known as turmeric or Indian Saffron, is a tropical mountain plant and belongs to the ginger family. It is native to India and Southeast Asia. In Ayurveda, tumeric has been known for the 4000 years as being a "hot" substance, although it has a positive effect on all three doshas (body types). The most important active ingredient, curcumin, is important for the body's metabolism, especially for the fat metabolism, e.g. it supports bile production and can help to harmonize the complex digestive processes. Pepper is added to our curcuma tablets, because the piperin in the pepper enhances the positive qualities of the lumeric.
