This spiced tea blend promotes well-being in the evening by bringing all three ayurvedic functional principles into balance -- above all the vata-dosha. In the classic ayurvedic textbook "Charak Samhita" it says: "Healthy sleep brings happiness, nourishes the body, provides strength and vitality, lends wisdom and gives life." Package contains 20 tea bags, 34 grams each.
Here are a few more tips from the Ayurveda for a night of rejuvenating sleep:
Go to bed before 10 p.m.: The Ayurveda explains why you fall asleep more easily before 10 p.m. and that your sleep is then, in general, more rejuvenating: each time of day has a different "quality." From 6 - 10 p.m., the kapha-dosha is dominant; this is the most favorable dosha for falling asleep. After 10 p.m. the pitta time begins, a time during which spiritual impressions are supposed to be processed. Many who stay awake through that period feel that the tiredness disappears gradually and that they can't fall asleep again until well after midnight.
Don't eat dinner too late: The midday meal should be the main meal of the day. Breakfast and dinner should be light.
Only light food in the evening: Avoid heavy foods in the evening, for example meat, sausage, fish, yoghurt, cheese, buttermilk and quark. |
