THE CORRECT USAGE
Every sauna is unique. Place your Solina onto your sauna’s heater in such a way that is most appealing to you and is also best suited for the way in which your sauna is arranged. However, be absolutely sure to take note that the fountain sits vertically. Neither the fountain tube in the middle of the basin nor the opening at the bottom should be pointed in the direction of any benches in your sauna, in order to avoid hot water being sprayed in your direction.
THE SAUNA IN FINLAND
The sauna is an important element of the heart of Finland. Solina has proven that Sauna myths and stories allow themselves to be eternalized in stone. With this new style of product, the manufacturer has given the modern sauna-tradition a considerable boost. As a natural, unchanged, untreated product, soapstone is ideally suited for the sauna. Only products of highest quality should ever be used in such a sacred place.
SOAPSTONE
Soapstone (Steatite) is a group of natural stones, which primarily consist of magnesium silicate talc in highly concentrated formations. This stone is mined almost everywhere in the world. Depending on the makeup of a particular kind of soapstone, the stone may vary in hardness and brittleness. This usually depends on the region where the particular soapstone is from. Additional components of soapstone are the minerals chloride, magnesite, and serpentine.
It is from the Finnish variety of soapstone that the select, so-named „Soapstone Stoves" are built. These stoves exhibit an extraordinary ability to retain heat. This type of soapstone is, however, much harder and is not suited for malleable objects. Due to its ability to retain heat, soapstone has been used since the beginning of history in the making of cookware.
